Man arrested after reports of woman screaming at Kamloops hotel

Reports of a woman screaming for help led to the arrest of one man in Kamloops yesterday morning.

Kamloops RCMP were called to Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in the 300-block of St. Paul Street after reports of a woman screaming for help and something about a stabbing.

Police arrived around 10:15 a.m. yesterday, May 3, then searched two floors to find the source of the scream, since no room number was provided, according to a RCMP media release.

No stabbing occurred at the hotel, but after finding the source of the scream, police say one man was arrested for multiple offences.

He remains in custody and is expected to appear in court in relation to charges of assault, forcible confinement and breaching his release conditions.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-14193.
