KELOWNA - Fire crews spent the afternoon cleaning up hundreds of litres of spilled fuel in Kelowna on Sunday.
According to a press release, the Kelowna Fire Department received a call about a large fuel spill on 750 McCurdy Road at around 1:15 p.m. on June 16.
First responders found the spill in the parking lot of a commercial complex. The diesel fuel originated from a delivery truck, which appeared to have damaged fuel tanks.
Crews used absorbent material to soak up approximately 200 litres of fuel.
The City of Kelowna utility crews were called to assess the catch basin and surrounding systems. The Ministry of Environment was also advised about the situation.
