BOSTON - A New Hampshire man who's one of dozens of Indonesians challenging their deportation orders has been released from custody.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Patti Saris ordered Terry Rombot, of Dover, to be immediately released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody Wednesday in Boston, finding that his due process rights were violated.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports that Saris previously halted the deportation of dozens of Indonesians who have been staying in the country under orders of supervision through an ICE program.
The newspaper says many have been in New Hampshire since the 1990s and they were told to return to Indonesia as they checked in this summer.
Rombot's attorney, William Hahn, says Rombot was the only one detained out of about 50 plaintiffs.
Rombot thanked his supporters after his release.
