SAO PAULO - Brazil's justice ministry says more than 100 people have been arrested in an offensive against internet child pornography in Latin America's biggest country.
The ministry said at least 106 suspects were taken into custody on Thursday and face charges of producing, storing and sharing child pornography, which are crimes that carry jail sentences of up to eight years.
The ministry said arrest, search and seizure warrants were issued in all 26 states and in the capital of Brasilia.
Most of the arrests were made in the states of Sao Paulo and Goias in central-western Brazil.
