PENTICTON - Enjoy a race from the bottom to the top of the valley this weekend, or stay down below and take in some music, buy a book or find out about Okanagan snakes.
The Elevator Race takes place Saturday, March 25 in an all day event that starts in the valley and ends on a mountain top. Participants paddle, road bike, run or snowshoe, mountain bike, nordic ski, hike and downhill ski in a range of categories from competitive athlete to participants taking part for the sheer fun of it.

The annual Dirty Book Sale takes place at the library, Saturday, March 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call the Penticton Public Library information desk at 250-7707781, ext. 4502.

The House is a-rockin’ Band Jam is happening at Orchard House on Saturday, March 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your guitar, bring your sticks, or your band to 157 Orchard Avenue. There’s music and refreshments at the band/blues jam that’s open to everyone.
Join Okanagan rattlesnake researcher Jared Maida to view a screening of the documentary “Sophisticated Serpents” at the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos this Saturday, March 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. Maida will discuss his work with the region’s snakes following the screening.
Justin Gibbery Quartet comes to The Dream Cafe, Saturday, March 25, starting at 8 p.m., bringing well known South Okanagan vocalist Yanti. Tickets available online, cost is $39.
Jeremy Head plays in a free session at Cannery Brewing on Sunday, March 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
