KAMLOOPS - Get ready for a summer-like weekend of weather in Kamloops.

Environment Canada is calling for possible showers and a thunderstorm risk today and tonight, May 30, but Friday through Sunday should see lots of sun and heat.

Today in Kamloops, a mix of sun and cloud could bring a 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon, along with risk of a thunderstorm. Hazy conditions are expected with winds becoming west at 20 km/h this afternoon, with gusts to 70 near thunderstorms, along with a high of 33 Celsius. A 30 per cent chance of showers persists through tonight, with partly cloudy conditions clearing near midnight, and a low of 15 C.

The air quality index for Kamloops today is between 3 and 4, considered low to moderate risk for those with respiratory issues.

Friday and Saturday are expected to be sunny with highs both days of 32 C and an overnight lows of 14 C and 15 C respectively.

Sunday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 30 C.

Monday should see things cool off a bit in Kamloops, as the forecast calls for sunny conditions and a high of 25 C.

Kamloops normally experiences a high and low of 23 C and 10 C this time of year.
