Looking for a forever home; Vernon SPCA pet of the week

Isla would love to be part of a family with older, dog-savvy children.

Her "Mommy" instincts are strong and she adores children and people overall, always ready to give love and cuddles. Isla will become your second shadow and loves to follow you wherever you go.

A fairly active girl, Isla lives for her walks outside. She is improving on her leash manners and does well on a front-clip harness.

Isla would love a large, fenced yard where she can run and play. In the home, she sometimes barks when left alone but generally settles easily, she would benefit with guardians who can teach her gradual departure.

Isla knows all her basic obedience like sit, stay, watch, shake-a-paw, but would benefit from further training to help her dog-to-dog interactions. In the past she has shown reactivity to other dogs and, while it has improved with training, her new family should be dog-experienced and willing to work with her on this.

She loves to play, especially fetch.

Isla best suits a pet free home. She is truly a sweet girl who just wants to love the family around her.

If you think this might be you, please go to the to the B.C. SPCA website and contact the Vernon branch for more information.

Isla's animal ID number is 366081.
