KAMLOOPS- This Pomeranian may be cute and small but she has the attitude of a diva.
Rolo is looking for an experienced, gentle and patient guardian who can work with her on all her fears and behaviour quirks, a media release says.
Lyndsay Stewart from Kamloops SPCA writes Rolo will likely bond strongly to one or two people once her trust is earned. This can take some time.
She can be a lap dog who loves pets and cuddles if they are kept within her comfort zone.
Folo is small and strong-willed so she will need an equally strong-willed guardian who isn’t going to let her get away with things.
Rolo is nervous when it comes to letting strangers pet her and may snap at unwanted attention. She would do best in a home with no children, and no cats. She seems to be selective about other dogs, and has lived well with a larger dog in foster care.
Rolo can be a fun companion who loves going for walks and car rides. She also loves playing fetch with her ball, but won’t give it back without a fight.
She will sleep in bed with you or cuddle on the couch once she bonds to you.
Rolo can be hypersensitive to certain handling and things like grooming, vet exams, and picking her up will need to be worked on with desensitizing as she is very fearful and reactive to them. She may be prone to some anxiety when left alone, so will need her new guardian to help her to get used to being alone a few moments at a time. She is housebroken though needs frequent opportunities to go outside to avoid accidents.
Rolo does know some basic obedience commands.
