KAMLOOPS - This goofy and outgoing young dog needs a special home.

Lyndsay Stewart from the Kamloops SPCA says that Sophie doesn’t have very good needs and requires medication to ease her discomfort. She will need these meds for the rest of her life.

The best form of exercise for her is swimming because doing long hikes or runs are going to make her knees worse, Stewart says.

Sophie loves being with people and has lived with young children before.

However she is very selective over other canine friends.

Her future guardians will need to work on introducing her to other dogs slowly, and making it a positive experience for her.

Sophie appears to be house trained and rides well in vehicles.

She does not like being left alone for too long and has a tendency to become vocal. Stewart recommends getting her familiar with spending time alone slowly to manage her anxiety.

For more information about Sophie contact the staff at the Vernon SPCA. Her animal ID number is 457565.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
