Looking for a forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS - Avery was brought to the SPCA from a cat hoarding situation where she was not very well socialized to people. She has been in a foster home for the last few months, gradually exploring what a life as a pet means.

Avery arrived at the SPCA on Dec. 14, 2015. She is approximately two years and ten months old.

Despite her tough start in life, she has never exhibited aggressive behaviour while in foster care. She can be nervous of strangers, so touching her on her cheeks, chin, and neck instead of over her head works best

If you are slow and gentle, she may allow you to hold her and pet her, but keep in mind, this is something that will take time. She may never become that social butterfly who jumps from lap to lap, but she definitely enjoys having people around.

Due to her history, Avery would not do well in a home with lots of activity or commotion, or a home with children. She needs gentle, patient guardians to who will help her share her love.

Avery's Animal ID is 387897.

Visit the Kamloops Branch webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees, and hours of operation.
