VERNON - The Dauphin Kings wrapped up last night's RBC Cup game with a 5-2 win over the Vernon Vipers.

Five different players scored goals with 10 earning at least one point, propelling the Kings toward victory.

This was the first time Vernon faced off against Dauphin since the latter hosted the 2010 RBC Cup. They defeated the Kings 8-1 during the national final that year.

Colton Sparrow and Ryan Renze scored goals for Vernon, while Jared Morris, Brett Hope, Brayden Cuthbert, Tyler Garrioch and Brent Wold scored for the Kings. Dauphin remains undefeated so far in the preliminary round of the cup.

Both teams finish the preliminary round Thursday, with Dauphin facing off against the Yorkton Terriers at 2 p.m. and Vernon against the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, at 7 p.m.
