KELOWNA – Saskatoon police say they’ve arrested three people from Kelowna for drug trafficking.

A media release says an investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team began March 5, after a traffic stop on Highway 16, shortly before 11 a.m.

A 71-year-old man who was traveling westbound was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. The release does not give quantity or type of narcotics found.

At 5 p.m. that day, police executed a search warrant in a hotel room and found more drugs.

Inside, investigators seized over 5,000 illicit pills including codeine and diazepam, methamphetamine, an unknown substance, cell phones, packaging commonly used in drug distribution, score sheets and over $13,000 in cash, according to the release.

A 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They face 13 charges relating to drug trafficking and possession of property obtained through crime.
