Kelowna Rockets snap losing streak

KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Everett Silvertips 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday night at Prospera Place, snapping a three game losing skid in the process.

Lucas Johansen scored the game winning goal on a power play tally in the extra frame to give the Rockets the win.

The Rockets scored twice early in the first period. They eventually led 3-1 after two periods of play before Everett scored two in the third to force overtime.

Nolan Foote scored his first career WHL goal and was named the game's first star while Rodney Southam and Devante Stephens scored the other two Rockets goals.

The Rockets went 2 for 4 on the powerplay while outshooting the Silvertips 27-22.

Michael Herringer collected his fourth win on the season as the Rockets improved to 4-7-0-0 on the season.

The Rockets are back in action on Friday night at Prospera Place when they take on the Tri-City Americans to close out a four game home-stand.

Following Friday’s game, Kelowna plays in Seattle on Saturday before returning to Prospera Place next Wednesday to host Victoria.
