KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 3-2 in a shootout on Wednesday night, March 9, at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Tomas Soustal scored in the shootout to give the Rockets the win, while all three Cougars shooters missed on Rockets goalie Michael Herringer.

The win improves the Rockets record to 45-18-3-0 on the season with six games remaining in the regular season.

The game was scoreless through the first two periods of play as Kelowna jumped out quickly in the first period, outshooting the Cougars in the period 14-6 but failing to score.

The Cougars opened the scoring in the third period before Kelowna scored two straight power play goals to take a lead. Tyson Baillie and Cole Linaker had the Rockets goals.

The Rockets outshot Prince George 40-27 in the game.

The Rockets are back in action at Prospera Place on Friday night when the Kamloops Blazers are back in town for a rematch of last weekend's games.

The Rockets will also play in Spokane on Saturday and Tri-City on Sunday.

Tickets are available for Rockets home games through www.selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
