Kelowna man issued parking ticket despite having paid for parking
Jonathan Garratt was fined $30 for having his vehicle parked in front of an expired meter – even though the meter in downtown Kelowna wasn’t expired.
Fortunately he kept the receipt and was able to prove his innocence.
It shows that on Feb. 27 a parking fee was paid for a spot at 304 Bernard Avenue at 2:06 p.m., and it was good until 2:49 p.m. The fine was issued the same day at 2:33 p.m. on the 300 block of Bernard Avenue.
“Telling the time I guess should be a given for traffic wardens,” Garratt said. “At least they cancelled it for us.”
