Kelowna first responders stop on Highway 33 to salute Nelson cop killed in avalanche
The B.C. police officer who died in an avalanche last week was transported from Kelowna back to Nelson where his body will be laid to rest.
Const. Wade Tittemore of the Nelson Police Department was killed while off duty in an avalanche, Jan. 9.
After first responders from Kelowna learned Tittemore’s body would be travelling through the area today, they stopped their vehicles on the side of Highway 33 to pay respect to the fallen officer, according to a Kelowna RCMP media release.
Members of the public who want to share condolences with Tittemore’s family can do so by sending an email to condolences@nelson.ca.
