KELOWNA, B.C. - Residents in a Kelowna, B.C., apartment building were chased out of their homes early Wednesday morning when a fire from several nearby vehicles spread to the building.
Kelowna fire crews responded to the report of a blaze at around 4:15 a.m.
The fire department says when their crews arrived on scene they saw that the fire had spread from the vehicles to one of the balconies and had damaged some windows.
The department says its crews were able to knock down the flames before they could spread further, but the residents had to stay out of the building until the smoke was ventilated later in the day.
No injuries were reported and fire officials say the cause appears suspicious.
