Kelowna driver in hospital after being ejected from car during rollover

KELOWNA - A man is being treated in a hospital for serious injuries after he was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover early this morning in Kelowna.

According to an RCMP press release, emergency crews arrived near Summit Drive and Valley Road just before 6:40 a.m. today, March 6, to respond to a reported single vehicle rollover collision. The driver was found at the scene and rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say early findings at the scene suggest a grey Honda Civic had been traveling west toward Glenmore Road when it lost control at a curve and veered off the road.

It appears that the driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was ejected from the car as it rolled down a slope, police say.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash, which may involve an inspection of the heavily damaged vehicle.

Anyone with information, or dash cam footage, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section at 250-762-3300.
