A Kelowna cookbook author's latest creation has been featured in Chatelaine.

Jennifer Schell’s “unique portrait” of B.C.’s winemakers, The B.C. Wine Lover's Cookbook, has been out for just a matter of weeks and it’s already been mentioned in Chatelaine.

"I'm thrilled for the people of wine country to get that spotlight, and the industry needs a little boost, so people who aren't able to physically tour wine country are able to do through the book," she said.

The cookbook has been featured in "9 Books Every Canadian Should Read This Summer—According To Our Favourite Indie Booksellers," in the woman's magazine.

Kelowna's Alicia Neill, with Mosaic Books wrote "Each recipe highlights the amazing food and wine of British Columbia, with beautiful photography and personal stories from the families behind the wineries. One of my favourite recipes is Jan’s Cauliflower Soup with Apple Curry Marshmallows, from Quails’ Gate Winery. The marshmallow elevates the soup to a unique and incredibly tasty dish."

The book that features the families across B.C. who put their heart and soul into feeding others has been getting a lot of tread with food and wine writers and those who want to indulge in some of the best cultural offerings B.C. has to offer.

An opportunity to get a copy and to speak with Schell is happening Friday, July 17 from 12- 2 p.m. at The Lakehouse on Bernard Ave.

Jennifer Molgat from the View will join Schell for a wine tasting, too.
