KELOWNA - The Kelowna Chiefs are pleased to welcome their new head coach for the 2014/15 KIJHL season.

Jason Tansem will take over the position after spending last season as assistant coach with the team.

General Manager Grant Sheridan welcomes Tansem to the position.

“As a team, we not only work to develop players for the next level of their hockey career but also our coaching staff.  Tansem played a major role with the Chiefs during the 2013/14 season as assistant coach and I’m pleased that he has taken on the new role with the club.”

Ken Andrusiak will remain on as Assistant GM and Video Coach with the Kelowna Chiefs.

Tansem’s first task as head coach will be Spring Camp which takes place over the Easter long weekend as upwards of 80 players show off their skills in hopes of securing a spot with the team.

The Kelowna Chiefs will continue their motto of “Building a Stronger Community” with one of their first events under Tansem being the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike.  Players will join Ryan Watters with RyanWatters.ca as he captain’s a team on May 22.
