Kelowna airport stabbing has RCMP searching for suspect

KELOWNA - A stabbing in the long-term parking lot of Kelowna International Airport has RCMP searching for a suspect.

A 54-year-old West Kelowna man was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, July 31, media officer Cpl. Tania Carroll said in a press release, after interrupting what appears to be a theft in progress from his vehicle.

The altercation was reported to the valet kiosk in the parking lot by someone who saw it happening, Carroll said, but a subsequent search for the suspect who fled on foot found nothing.

He is described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years old, about 5'10" tall with dark hair. He was wearing jeans and jean jacket with a plaid shirt and baseball cap.

Anyone with information should contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
