COMOX, B.C. - Three kayakers stranded on a steep rocky shoreline have been hoisted to safety by the crew of a search and rescue helicopter.
The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria says the kayakers were paddling the shoreline near Estevan Point B.C. when one boat rolled in choppy waters.
When the others went over to help, one boat was badly damaged on the rocks.
The three kayakers scrambled ashore and were spotted by a passing boater, who alerted the rescue centre.
A Cormorant helicopter from 19 Wing Comox was sent to rescue the kayakers, who were hoisted into the chopper.
All three men were uninjured and were flown back to their campsite near Espinosa Inlet.
