Kamloops youth threatened, backpack stolen at bus stop

FILE PHOTO

Two men threatened and robbed a youth of his backpack and phone at a Kamloops bus stop last week.

Multiple Kamloops RCMP officers got to the scene around 1:30 p.m., Nov. 18, but the suspects weren't found, according to a news release.

Police say the youth was at a bus stop on the 900 block of McGill Road when the two men approached and "threatened" him.

One man is described as being in his late-30s and was wearing red snow pants. The second was wearing a mask. The victim was uninjured, according to police.

The next evening, police responded to an armed robbery on Hillside Drive, where store staff reported two suspects with a knife and an icepick.

RCMP got to the store around 9:50 p.m., Nov. 19, but the suspects fled on foot and weren't found.

The store was on the 1000 block of Hillside Drive, but police didn't specify the business nor exactly what was suspected to be stolen.

Anyone with information about these incidents can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-41473 for the Hillside Drive robbery, and file 2022-41320 for the McGill Road robbery.
