KAMLOOPS - A 19-year-old Kamloops woman has been released on bail after allegedly stabbing a man in Westsyde.

According to court documents, Kaitaia Drobot was released from custody yesterday, July 25, following an appearance in Kamloops Provincial Court.

She's charged with one count of aggravated assault in connection to a stabbing in Westsyde that left a 20-year-old man injured. His name has not been released publicly.

Court documents show Drobot was released on $5,000 bail by Provincial Court judge Stephen Harrison. Her release comes with a number of conditions including a no-contact order for several people, she can't possess weapons and can't consume any drugs or alcohol. She's due back in court next month to consult with legal counsel.

Kamloops RCMP said police responded to a report of a disturbance and stabbing in Westsyde on July 23 around 2 a.m.

When police arrived, they found a 20-year-old man outside of a home with a chest wound. Further investigation led officers inside the home where a woman was located with a knife.

The man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
