Kamloops RCMP are looking for two robbers who can’t drive a stick shift.

Police received a report about a robbery in the 500-block of Victoria Street around 5 a.m. Sunday, May 4, according to a press release from the RCMP.

Someone was in their vehicle in a parking lot when two masked men with hoods up approached and tried to steal the car.

“The suspects robbed the victim of items in their possession, then attempted to steal their vehicle too, but failed when they realized they were unable to drive a standard transmission,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “As part of their investigation, police have obtained suspect images and are releasing them to the public in hopes that someone can identify them.”

The first suspect is described as a skinny male wearing a red and black bandana covering his face up to the eyes, and a red hoodie. The second suspect is an Indigenous man more than 6’ tall with brown work pants, a red and black bandana and a hoodie.

The suspects ran west down a nearby alley.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-13306.
