Kamloops singled out by realtors for first time home buyers

KAMLOOPS - The Tournament Capital is catching the eye of Canadian realtors for its fairly unique position in British Columbia real estate as a potential haven for first time home buyers.

In an article last month, Real Estate Magazine, a trade publication for realtors, listed Kamloops as a top destination for realtors byas one of Canada's best cities to find your first home.

With real estate prices through the roof in the Lower Mainland, Victoria and the Okanagan, Kamloops was considered the best option for a B.C. lifestyle without the cost. It shines a light on all that Kamloops has going for it — beyond an average home price under $400,000.

"Why your clients will love it:," the article says. "This Thompson Valley river town sits in the shadow of mountains, enjoys beautiful weather and has a relaxed, outdoorsy vibe. Kamloops boasts all the millennial must-haves: arts and culture, yoga studios, restaurants and a farmers’ market, plus amazing proximity to hiking, skiing, fishing and snow sports. Kamloops offers the quintessential B.C. lifestyle for a fraction of the cost of Vancouver living."

Kamloops was the only B.C. city they included alongside London and Guelph, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
