Police turned up nothing suspicious when officers searched a Kamloops elementary school after threats were made this afternoon.
Kamloops RCMP were called to McGowan Park Elementary School just before 3 p.m. today, May 8. Someone threatened the school just after students were dismissed for the day, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.
“Out of an abundance of caution, officers searched the school as part of the investigation and nothing that appeared suspicious was located,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
Police didn't reveal any details about the nature of the threat.
It's not clear how long parents or students were held up as officers searched the school.
