Kamloops RCMP searching for owner of tin with sentimental jewelry

KAMLOOPS - Police are looking for the owner of a unique tin containing what appears to be sentimental jewelry after recovering the items following an arrest at the end of December.

Two men were taken into custody on Dec. 28 for a break and enter at a compound on Cariboo Place, Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a spokesperson for Kamloops RCMP, says. Officers recovered several pieces of jewelry contained in a round tin but could not find the item reported missing in the RCMP database.

"A search of police databases for these items being reported as stolen has come up negative, but we believe the person missing these items will be able identify them and have them returned,” Bush says in a release.

The following items were within the tin:

- A pocket watch on a chain
- Seven assorted rings, one of which is a signet ring with initials and a particular stone
- Three unique pins
- Eight assorted necklace pendants and one chain
- One pair of earrings

If these items are yours, you are encouraged to call the RCMP to identify them and have them returned to you. Contact the detachment by calling 250-828-3000.
