A Kamloops charity foundation is thinking outside the box with a COVID-safe drive-thru dinner and wine for two.

You can order a meal and bottle of wine online, then do a drive-thru pick-up at Colombo Lodge Nov. 13.

The event is organized by the ICCHA WISH Fund through the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.

"We're raising money for the 3D Echocardiogram which the doctors need," founder Al Patel said.

This equipment would save Kamloops cardiac patients a trip to Kelowna for an exam, he said.

The dinner is a pasta dish from Colombo Lodge, chicken or vegetarian, with local ingredients from NuLeaf market. The meal comes with dessert and a bottle of wine.

The drive-thru meal pick-up will run from 4 to 7 p.m., and each donor will have the chance to win a prize from a local business.

The dinner and wine for two is $99, and each ticket includes a $40 tax-deductible receipt. Tickets are available to purchase until Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. online here.

The Kamloops West Rotary Club is also getting innovative with wine in light of the pandemic restrictions.

You and your bubble of six can purchase a ticket for a virtual wine tasting with award winning Kamloops sommelier Linda Coles.

The Six and the City event ticket will include a charcuterie board and 4 bottles of wine delivered right to your home.

The virtual tasting will be hosted on Zoom at 7 p.m. Nov. 27.

A ticket for six comes to $300, or $52.50 per person in the group. To purchase a ticket for Six and the City online, click here.

Only 23 tickets (one per group of six) are available.
