A Kamloops grandmother who won $100,000 on her 6/49 lottery ticket has double demands on her winnings.

Noreen Rozek has always wanted to travel to Australia or New Zealand so she plans on fulfilling that dream once COVID travel restrictions are lifted.

But her grandchildren have plans of their own.

“They were just as excited as me,” she said in a B.C. Lotteries Corporation news release. “My grandchildren also mentioned it means I can buy them better birthday gifts.”

Rozek bought her ticket at the Real Canadian Superstore on Columbia Street West for the March 27 draw. When she heard a guaranteed price ticket had been bought in Kamloops she checked her numbers online.

“I looked down and was shocked and excited,” she said in the news release. “I walked away to sit and have a cup of coffee before going back to the computer to double check.”

She waited a few days to let the win sink in before spreading the news to her children and grandchildren.
