KAMLOOPS - The forecast promises a mixed bag of weather in Kamloops this week, including some snow.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says Kamloops could see a mix of rain and snow tomorrow morning as a modified arctic front brings an “early taste of winter” to Kamloops.

Kamloops residents can expect periods of rain today, Oct. 1, with a high of 10 Celsius.

Showers will continue overnight with periods of rain changing to snow tomorrow morning, along with a risk of thunderstorms.

Kamloops could see snowfall accumulations of two to four centimetres on the valley floor tomorrow, with winds gusting to 60 km/h near noon, and the temperature falling from a high of 2 C to zero.

On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rebound to 12 C under a mix of sun and cloud as the arctic front moves east towards Alberta.

Thursday’s forecast is similar with a high of 15 C.

On Friday, the clouds move in again with a high of 14 C expected.

Today is the first day for winter driving rules regarding use of snow tires on some B.C. highways. Lundquist says the Coquihalla and the Connector could see significant amounts of snow between today and Wednesday morning.
