A Kamloops man has a court date after stealing a young person’s bicycle earlier this month.

Officers were called to a report of a bike theft at a restaurant in the 500 block of Notre Dame Drive back on Sunday, June 2, according to an RCMP media release issued today, June 13.

A youth had his bike stolen while he was inside the eatery.

Staff at the unidentified restaurant took photos of a pair of suspects and gave them to police.

“Luckily, an investigator recognized one of the suspects and set to work with other police officers on getting the bike back,” Kamloops RCMP media liaison Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

A suspect was arrested later that week and released from custody with a court date, and the bike was returned to its owner.

No charges have been laid yet.
