KAMLOOPS - A unique two-day medical conference is coming to Kamloops this spring.

The 5th International Conference on Skin Integrity and Infection Prevention will be held at Thompson Rivers University on April 26 and 27.

The two-day event will explore and investigate issues surrounding wound infection, identification, prevention and management of pressure, according to the conference website.

“This conference will examine research in these areas and relate these to clinical practice giving practitioners genuine insight into how research can be put into practice and improve health-related quality of life for patients,” organizers say.

The conference will also offer participants an insight into the emotional and financial cost of wounds and how these issues are being addressed in different regions.

The conference is open to anyone but those working in wound care such as medical staff, scientists, engineers, pharmacists, healthcare managers are encouraged to attend.

Last year's conference was held in Las Vegas.
