KELOWNA - A snowboarder who was injured out of bounds at Big White had to be rescued by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue Friday afternoon.
The man, whose age has not been released, was snowboarding with two friends off Gem Lake when he collided with a tree and injured his hip. One of the friends managed to get to help and a member of COSAR along with two Ski Patrollers were called to the scene to help get him off the mountain.
"He is going to be okay," COSAR member Duane Tresnich says. "He was stretchered out but that is normal with a crush-type injury."
Tresnich said that the rescue went "perfectly" and took around two hours.
