VERNON – RCMP are asking the public for help to track down a suspected parcel thief in Vernon.
Police say just after 4 p.m. on Boxing Day, Dec. 26, an elderly woman can be seen on video surveillance stealing a parcel from the front step of a home on Tamarack Drive in Vernon.
The woman rings the front door bell and when no one answers, grabs the parcel and walks away with it, according to an RCMP media release.
“The RCMP are looking to the public in hopes that someone recognizes this suspect so police can speak with her,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says in the release. “The suspect is not known to the victim and their family and had no reason for being at that particular residence that day.”
