iN VIDEO: Stray tire makes for wheeley weird morning in West Kelowna
A stray tire bounced its way down Highway 97 in West Kelowna this morning but an RCMP officer was able to avert a potential collision.
INFOnews editor Marshall Jones captured a video of the stray tire rolling down Highway 97 toward the Okanagan Lake bridge around 10:45 a.m.
“I didn’t see any accidents, there were no cars driving around with three wheels,” Jones said. “It could have been a spare tire that fell off the bottom of a truck.”
The tire was rolling slowly as it approached the hill down to the bridge where it could have gained a dangerous amount of speed.
There was an RCMP officer conducting a traffic stop in the path of the loose tire. The officer saw it rolling along and was able to stop the tire before it caused an accident.
