After a pause last year, Kamloops’s very own cappella quartet will be offering singing valentines once again.

The quartet consisting of Grant Huffman, Ryan Noakes, Graham Speht and Simon Walter will be singing their messages of love throughout Kamloops on Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“We generally get a lot of positive feedback from the community about what a great idea it is and how much fun it is,” said group member Ryan Noakes.

For $60 the men will sing a special love song to a recipient and give them a flower and candy.

“It is one of the most fun things you can do as a group and the day is an amazing emotional rollercoaster,” Noakes said. “We see a wide variety of reactions from recipients, from total embarrassment to emotionally impactful moments for the people involved. You see how much it means when someone shows another how much they are cared for.”

This year’s proceeds going to the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society which provides programs and services to support the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of Indigenous people in the community and surrounding areas.

“It's nice to be able to give back to the community a little bit and do a little something to help out,” Noakes said.

This year there are two song options to choose from, Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, and The Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way.

“It is always songs we have in our repertoire and we make sure they are polished up and ready to go.”

Slow No Tempo is already fully booked up for the morning but still have availability in the afternoon and evening of the special day.

All Singing Valentines must be ordered and paid for by 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 12.
