The Coquihalla Highway has slippery sections from Exit 202 (Portia) to 29 km south of Merritt, according to DriveBC. There’s a 30% chance of flurries this morning between Hope and Merritt then a mix of sun and cloud throughout.

The Okanagan Connector has compact snow, slushy and slippery sections from West Kelowna to the Pennask summit. There is a 30% chance of flurries early this morning before becoming a mix of sun and cloud near noon.

Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton has a 30% chance of snow flurries with a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon. There are slushy sections from 32 km west of Princeton to Hedley with some compact snow.

There are also slippery sections between Keremeos and 20 km east of Osoyoos.

Highway 3A has slippery sections from 13 to 22 km east of Keremeos.

Highway 97 has slipper sections from 3 km south of Osoyoos to Summerland.

Highway 1 has slippery sections 15 km east of Chase to 8 km west of Sicamous. There is limited visibility due to dense fog for 30 km in the Sicamous area.

Watch for slippery sections from 25 km east of Sicamous to 1 km east of Glacier National Park’s west boundary.

There’s a 30% chance of flurries from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass early this morning.

Kelowna collision impacting traffic

In Kelowna, emergency crews are on the scene of a serious single vehicle collision in the 1500 block of Burtch Road. Bernard Avenue is closed at Nobel Court, west of Burtch Road and at Cherry Crescent West near the Apple Bowl. The intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Burtch Road is also closed to traffic. Bernard Avenue at Highland Drive South is also closed. RCMP said they expected the streets to be closed for several hours.

In the valley bottoms Kamloops is expected to remain below freezing with a high today of -2 Celsius and an overnight low of -8 C, according to Environment Canada. Winds could gust up to 50 km/h near noon creating a wind chill factor of -12 C.

Vernon has a 30% chance of flurries this morning with a high today of -1 C.

For Kelowna, the forecast high is 0 C with a low tonight of -4 C. It’s expected to be mainly cloudy with winds up to 20 km/h this morning.

Penticton will see a high of 2 C but that’s expected to fall to 0 C this afternoon.

Sun Peaks Ski Resort shows a temperature of -9 C. It had no new snow in the last 24 hours but had 17 cm of snow in the last 48 hours for an alpine base of 91 cm.

Silver Star Mountain Resort also had no snow in the last 24 hours but 17 cm in the last 48 hours for an alpine base of 119 cm. It was -6 C early this morning.

Big White Ski Resort had 3 cm of snow in the last 24 hours for an alpine base of 102 cm with a temperature of -4 C.

Apex Mountain Resort had no new snow in the last 24 hours, 19 cm in the last 48 for an alpine base of 119 cm and a temperature of -6 C.
