iN TRAFFIC: Watch for compact snow and slippery sections on interior highways
There are some slippery sections on Interior highways for drivers to be aware of this morning.
Drive B.C. is warning drivers of compact snow and slippery sections on Highway 1 from Cache Creek to Kamloops, and on Highway 5 between Helmer Road and West Kamloops.
Slippery sections have been reported on Highway 97 between St. Annes Road and Monte Creek, on Highway 1 between Chase and Sicamous and on Highway 97C between West Kelowna and Pennask Summit.
Kamloops is currently sitting at -9 Celsius and is expected to reach a high of -7, according to Environment Canada. It is -8 C in Vernon and will reach a high of -6 C today.
Kelowna will see some light snowfall at a temperature of -7 C and a high of -5 C. In Penticton it is -4 C with a high of -3 C.
A mix of sun and cloud is predicted for the Thompson Okanagan region with a chance of flurries in Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna.
At Big White Ski Resort there has been no new snow overnight and no new snow at Sun Peaks Ski Resort.
