iN TRAFFIC: Drivers can expect snow, slippery sections on Interior highways
DriveB.C. is warning travellers that some Interior highways may be snowy and slippery this morning.
There are slippery sections and compact snow on Highway 1 between Spences Bridge and Kamloops, Highway 5 from the Great Bear Snowshed to Kamloops, Highway 8 from Spences Bridge to Merritt, Highway 97C from Merritt to Highland Valley Copper Mine and all of Highway 97D.
Also, Highway 97 may have slippery sections between Coldstream and Vernon.
Environment Canada reports Kamloops will start the day with a low of -14 C, warm to -11 C, then drop back to -14 C. Vernon's day starts off at -13 C and warms to -8 C before dropping to -12 C. Kelowna will warm up from -10 C to -8 C before dipping to -12 C tonight and Penticton’s day will start at -7 C and slightly warm to -6 C. There is a chance of flurries this morning thought the region.
For anyone heading to the hill today, Big White Ski Resort got 10 centimetres of new snow in the last 12 hours, and a total of 66 cm over the past week. Sun Peaks Ski Resort has 1 cm of new snow and 35 cm since last week.
