iN NUMBERS: Kamloops, Okanagan real estate figures that may surprise you
The housing market has been outrageous for years so you might be numb to prices and figures, but here are a few that might make you feel something again.
There are even a few that might even make you feel hopeful if you're a first-time buyer on a budget.
Here’s what we found in Kamloops and the Okanagan:
- 16.9: Million bucks for a house on Pixton Road in Lake Country.
- 14: Million dollar for a home on Hobson Road in Kelowna.
- 319,000: Dollars for a 406 square foot home in Kelowna.
- 1,500: Bucks a month get a 580 square foot apartment on Edmonton Avenue in Penticton.
- 1,550: Dollars to rent a 376 square foot micro-suite in Kamloops, the perfect size to fit your bed and maybe even a chair.
- 4: Dollars per square foot for a micro-suite in Kamloops.
- 3.80: Per square foot for the average studio in Kelowna.
- 189,900: For a two-bed, one-bath in Vernon and the ad says it’s “well cared for”.
- 12: Years ago was the last time, aside from the pandemic, that home sales in Central Okanagan were this low.
- 25: Per cent lower than the 10 year average for home sales in Central Okanagan.
- 1,096: Homes went on the market in Central Okanagan in March, the most listings in the past 26 years.
