KELOWNA - The early birds stand the best chance to buy a passport to the Taste of Downtown Kelowna before they sell out Saturday, April 27.

The sale of passports starts at Mosaic Books at 411 Bernard Ave. at 9 a.m. and require a minimum donation of $8 – with all proceeds going to the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank.

Last year, the 1,000 passports sold out in less than two hours and raised $6,000. The goal is to hit $10,000 this year. The rules limit passports to six per person.

The passports can only be bought at Mosaic and entitle the holder to visit any of the two dozen eateries in downtown Kelowna from noon to 3 p.m. on May 4.

In that three-hour period, passport holders have to get signatures (and free food samples), from at least five participating restaurants in each of the four coloured categories in order to qualify for a prize draw.

Passports have to be dropped off at two sites (Mosaic Books and the Rotary Centre for the Arts (421 Cawston Ave.) by 4 p.m. that day in order to qualify for the draw.
