Hot and sunny week in store for Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - This week hot and sunny weather is returning to the Tournament Capital.

Thursday will offer a mix of sun and cloud, however temperatures will remain in the low 30 Celsius range.

Until then, however, Kamloops is in for a hot and sunny week.

Today, Aug. 28, is expected to be sunny with local smoke which is expected to linger into the evening. The high today is expected to reach 34 C. Overnight, the temperature is predicted to fall to 14 C. The special air quality statement continues for Kamloops and the  South Thompson thanks to the wildfire smoke.

Tomorrow's forecast will bring more sun with a high of 35 C. The sunshine continues Wednesday with a high of 33 C.

Environment Canada predicts some clouds to move into Kamloops on Thursday, however, they are not expected to linger long because Friday's forecast calls for a mainly sunny day with a high of 29 C.

The weekend is expected to be sunny and hot, according to the weather office. Temperatures are likely to around the low 30s.

Saturday we are looking for a high of 32 C and a high of 31 C is possible on Sunday.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of 26 C and lows of 11 C.
