Bankier scores hat trick to lead Blazers to 8-3 win over Royals in WHL

Caedan Bankier had a hat trick and a pair of assists as the Kamloops Blazers remained undefeated with an 8-3 win over the Victoria Royals.

Daylan Kuefler added a pair of goals, while Fraser Minten, Josh Pillar, and Dylan Sydor had one apiece.

Bailey Peach, Brayden Shuurman and Riley Gannon scored for Victoria (1-4-0) in front of 1,805 fans at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.

Dylan Ernst made 29 saves for Kamloops (4-0-0). Victoria's Sebastian Wraneschitz made 24 saves before being replaced by Connor Martin in third period.

RAIDERS 3 MOOSE JAW 2

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Niall Crocker scored the eventual game-winner to lead the Prince Albert Raiders to a 3-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Ozzy Wiesblatt and Reece Vitelli also scored for Prince Albert, while Kaiden Guhle had a pair of assists.

Daemon Hunt and Denton Mateychuk scored third-period goals for the Warriors who trailed 3-0 heading into the final period.

Carter Serhyenko made 20 saves for Prince Albert (1-4-0), while Carl Tetachuk turned away 23 shots for Moose Jaw (2-2-0).

WHEAT KINGS 5 OT BLADES 4

SASKATOON, Sask. - Chad Nychuk scored his second goal of the game at 2:22 of overtime to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-4 win over the Blades.

Ben Thornton, Rylen Roersma and Nolan Ritchie also scored for the Wheat Kings.

Brandon Lisowsky had a pair of goals for Saskatoon, while Tristen Robins and Tyler Parr had one apiece.

Saskatoon outshot Brandon 35-24 on the night. Carson Bjarnason had 31 saves for the Wheat Kings (3-3-0), while Nolan Maier stopped 19 shots for the Blades (2-1-1).
