Brooklyn Kalmikov makes immediate impact for Wildcats in shootout win over Titan

Brooklyn Kalmikov scored the shootout winner after registering a goal in regulation time for the Moncton Wildcats in a 4-3 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in QMJHL action Saturday.

The Wildcats acquired Kalmikov earlier this week in a trade with Victoriaville.

Moncton dealt a third-round draft pick to the Tigres for the 20-year-old forward from St. John's N.L.

Moncton's Chad Arsenault and Vincent Labelle also scored in the shootout.

The Wildcats also got goals from Nicolas Pavan and Mathis Cloutier.

Moncton goaltender Chad Arsenenault stopped 38 shots for the win.

Cole Huckins had two goals and an assist, and Logan Chisolm also scored for Acadie-Bathurst.

Thomas Couture turned away 32 shots in the loss.

Joshua Roy led the Phoenix with a goal and an assist.

Rimouski 5 Victoriaville 1

Maxime Coursol scored twice for the Oceanic. Rimouski's Xavier Cormier and Luka Verreault each had a goal and an assist.

Shawinigan 4 Charlottetown 0

Xavier Bourgault had two goal and an assist for Shawinigan while Marvik Bourque added a goal and two assists. Goaltender Antoine Coulombe stopped 17 shots for the shutout.

Saint John 4 Cape Breton 3 (OT)

Jeremie Poirier scored three goals while Peter Reynolds had the winner at 1:20 of overtime for Sea Dogs.

Quebec 1 Rouyn-Noranda 0 (SO)

Christophe Farmer and Theo Rochette scored shootout goals for the Remparts while goalender Richard Samuel stopped two of the Huskies' attempts after turning aside 36 shots through regulation and overtime.
