WINNIPEG - Defenceman Paul Postma was skating again with the Winnipeg Jets today after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his calf three months ago.

He was wearing an orange no-contact jersey at the MTS Centre and says it could be another four days or so before he's cleared for contact and then a few more at least before he's game ready.

He doesn't know for sure how he got the clot but says it could have been from getting hit by a puck.

He's been on blood thinners for three months and has to be particularly careful when he flies to wear compression stockings on his legs and avoid sitting for too long without a break.

He only played eight games with the Jets this season before he was sidelined.

He says it's a long time to be off during a hockey season and easily beats the month he once missed with a broken thumb.
