Highway 1 closed this afternoon for avalanche control

The Trans-Canada Highway will be closed this afternoon as crews conduct avalanche control work.

Crews will be on scene west of Revelstoke, March 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. between the Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and Clanwilliam Bridge.

The highway will be closed during this time, according to a tweet from DriveB.C.

DriveB.C. is warning travellers to watch for traffic control.
