KAMLOOPS - From history tours to upbeat workout classes, this weekend in Kamloops has a range of activities to choose from.
If you're looking to have an active Friday night, Cycle Logic will be hosting a group ride for experienced cyclists looking to push their limits and have fun. The ride starts at 6 p.m. tonight, July 20, and riders will meet at the Cycle Logic store at 222 Victoria St.
To get your Saturday morning going, head down to Riverside Park at 9:30 a.m. for an upbeat workout class that incorporates full-body cardio and drumming techniques to get your heart beating. Tomorrow's event is called Pound The Park, and it's being hosted by Be.you.tiful Fitness.
Bring a toonie, sunscreen, and yoga mat and get ready to work out for an hour. Newcomers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to sign a waiver. Rain might cause cancellation, so make sure to check their Facebook page for updates. The event is family-friendly.
Explore the history of Kamloops Fire Rescue. Saturday is the start of history tour series hosted by Kamloops Fire Rescue. Tour participants will get a chance to explore the city's local fire department through photos, stories, and artifacts. The tour takes place at Fire Station No. 1 at 1205 Summit Dr. The tour is approximately one hour and people can sign up online or by calling 250-828-3500.

Learn about water safety in Saturday's Water Safety Festival hosted by the City of Kamloops. This family-friendly event hosted by local lifeguards will touch on water rescue, boating safety, First Aid, CPR, and overall water safety education. It's a free event will include a scavenger hunt, prizes, colouring contests, and giveaways. The festival starts at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Riverside Park and runs until 3 p.m.
Later on Saturday, July 21 there will be Music in the Vineyard hosted by Privato Vineyard and Winery located at 5505 Westsyde Rd. Enjoy a night of music with a glass of wine from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Check out ticket information here.
Red Beard Cafe will be hosting the first annual Yew Corner BBQ in partnership with Bright Eye Brewing. The event will take place on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. to celebrate the restaurants and patios on Yew Street. Coffee, beer, and food will be offered all day long from Eats Amore Mobile Italian Cuisine as well as Bright Eye Brewing will be releasing collaboration brews in partnership with Doan's Craft Brewing Company and Iron Road Brewing. This weekend's Music in the Park at Riverside Park will feature country musician Ben Klick performing tonight, July 20, alternative rock singer and songwriter Marshall Potts on Saturday, July 21. Sunday night's musicians are Three Kings featuring Henry Smalls. All performances begin at 7 p.m. rain or shine. For the this summer's full music lineup go here.
If you're looking to visit Sun Peaks this weekend, Sunday, July 22 will feature a Summer Patio Party hosted by Tourism Sun Peaks. The event will take place at the Sun Peaks Resort on 1280 Alpine Road from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and feature musician Ruby Bruce. The singer-songwriter is from Shuswap Lake. For more details click here.
