Heavy snow expected on Okanagan Connector and other highways this weekend
Significant snowfall is coming to the Okanagan Connector and other B.C. mountain passes potentially creating dangerous driving conditions on Sunday and Monday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt, Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, and TransCanada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
Snowfall is expected to begin on Saturday and intensify throughout Sunday, then taper off on Monday.
Environment Canada warns travellers to watch out for reduced visibility in the heavy snow, difficult driving conditions, and local blowing snow. The statement does not say exactly how much snow is expected.
Travellers should beware that weather conditions can change quickly.
Drivers can check local forecasts, Travellers Route bulletin and DriveBC for updated driving conditions.
