Heat in the Kamloops forecast this week

Environment Canada says Kamloops can expect more summer-like weather and above normal temperatures through this week.

If you enjoyed the weekend’s warm and sunny weather, get ready to enjoy more of the same this week.

The city is going to see more sunshine and temperatures several degrees above seasonal norms as we move into the middle of September.

That's not the case in the prairies, where The Weather Network reports an early morning frost in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the South Thompson warning of maximum daily temperatures of five to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year tomorrow and Thursday.

It should be sunny today, Sept. 8, with a high of 28 Celsius and winds becoming north at 20 km/h late this afternoon. Clear skies overnight with a low of 12 C can be expected.

The forecast calls for sunny skies on Wednesday with a high of 31 C and a low of 13 C.

More of that sunshine on Thursday with a high of 32 C and a low of 14 C.

You can expect sunshine on Friday with a high of 31 C and a low of 14 C.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 23 C and lows of 9 C.
